Gifts for someone who owns a steam oven

Most steam ovens arrive with one tray and a water tank, and most owners use a fraction of what the oven can do. These are the books and tools that get it used more. Each item is one we recommend on the site already, checked against what steam oven manuals allow.

Practical, if you know their oven

Descaler is the one thing every steam oven needs, but the right one depends on the brand: Miele and Thermador name their own, and Anova allows any descaling liquid. Only buy it if you know which oven they have.

Miele descaling tablets

The tablets Miele's own descale program expects. Clears the F20 message on DGC combi-steam ovens.

View on Amazon · ~$22
Durgol Swiss Steamer descaler

A general-purpose steam-oven descaler, for ovens whose manual allows a generic one (Anova says any descaling liquid works). Miele and Thermador name their own descalers; use those instead.
